Satan would win. Justice or change would prevail given enough time but Satan offers false hope, and in a place where hope is so sparse, the city, Satan will rule.
Most country brutes find themselves walking with a limp quite quickly round here. Ideals are not worth upholding in the city. Like a tattoo in prison, their options are already limited. You've just got to put up and shut up, that's just the way it is.
That's what I love about Gonz. He's still just some homeless guy. He hasn't really profited from skating but loves it anyway. He doesn't try to glamourise skating or make it out to be something it's not, he just doesn't care which I think is really cool.
He's happy if he gets a bottle of whiskey or a bag of weed for making a trick or whatever. He'll sleep in a doorway or in some gnarl on a sidewalk and he's back skating the next day looking for that next meal. A true player and an anti-hero in the truest sense of the word. Thank you Gonz!!
